    • We have a mains water supply to the hut which is perfectly safe to drink.

  • Power

Solar hybrid system supports everything you need but please be mindful of usage.

  • Bins & Recycling

We've provided separate bins in the kitchen for general waste and dry recycling, alongside instructions for outdoor bins on departure. Please help us keep things tidy and eco-conscious!

  • Smoking and Candles

For safety, and out of care for the land, we kindly ask that there is no smoking, vaping or use of e-cigarettes inside the hut or anywhere within it's grounds. Candles are also not permitted, as the open countryside setting means the fire risk is especially high. To help keep the atmosphere gentle and glowing, we've provided LED candles and tealights as a safe alternative.

  • Dogs

We love our four-legged friends - but The Wild Cherry Hideaway is a pet-free property to help us keep the space allergy-friendly and extra comfortable for all our guests.

  • Adults-only

The Hideaway is an adults-only retreat. This is due to a combination of insurance requirements, fire safety considerations, and our planning permission. The space has been thoughtfully designed as a quiet, restorative escape for grown-up stays, and we really appreciate your understanding.

  • Towels and robes are provided alongside hand towels and bath mats. Additional bath towels are supplied for the hot tub

  • Freestanding copper bath tub

    • Filling the bath may take some time, but it is worth the wait. For the hottest water, open the hot tap halfway. Copper tubs are excellent at retaining heat and deliver wellness benefits. It's crucial to use mild bathing products to maintain the delicate patina. Please refrain from using bath salts and only use our trusted aromatherapy bath soak. Be sure to rinse and dry the tub after each use.

Outside the Hut

  • Hikki wood-fired hot tub –  A ritual of warmth, calm and slow moments. We prepare the tub ready for you to light and enjoy. Further instructions are provided by the pergola and inside.

  • Firepit & pizza oven – You’ll find additional BBQ tools, cooking accessories (including tripod, skillets, popcorn maker, and cooking bowl), and charcoal in the garden storage next to the log store. We lay the first fire for you, simply light and enjoy. Further guidance can be found in the welcome file.

  • Log store stocked with plenty of logs and kindling for you to help yourself during your stay. We simply ask that you use what you need, so there's always enough for the next guests to enjoy as well.

  • Outdoor seating – perfect for sundowners or morning tea

  • Wildflower meadow views – We ask that you keep to the mown paths around the hut. The rustic fenced hut enclosure is yours to enjoy during your stay, with soft-cut paths to wander. Beyond this space, the wider meadow is privately owned. You might also spot our neighbours, a curious horse and gentle pony in the adjoining field. It’s a joy to have them close by, but we kindly ask that you don’t approach or feed them.

  • Footpath - To reach the public footpath, please go through the double gate by the log store. Then use the smaller gate beyond it. From there, take a left for a lovely walk towards Harby or Doddington. More details are in the welcome guide.

A fenced, grass car parking area is provided at the field entrance, which is reinforced to make it suitable for vehicles year-round. Please park here and unload your luggage onto the garden cart provided. There is a gated walkway on the right-hand side of the field which takes you directly to the Hideaway enclosure (at the bottom of the field).

Eco Notes

This space is designed with care, for the planet as well as for you.

  • Luxury, low-impact design – crafted using natural and recycled materials wherever possible.

  • Hybrid power system – solar-powered with mains backup to ensure year-round comfort, even in colder months.

  • Eco-conscious essentials – all cleaning products, washing solutions, and firelighters are planet-friendly.

  • Sustainable food storage – we use ‘If You Care’ products for baking and storing food.

  • Bamboo hygiene – We provide 'Bumboo' toilet tissue and kitchen roll - tree-free, plastic free and committed to rewilding.

  • Cinderella Incinerator Toilet – a waterless, odourless, hygienic eco-solution. Leaves only a tiny amount of sterile ash.

The Wild Cherry Hideaway is designed to feel calm, considered, and quietly eco-conscious - right down to the toilet.

We use a Cinderella incineration toilet, an advanced waterless system that turns waste into clean, sterile ash using high heat. It’s completely odourless, hygienic, and far more environmentally friendly than traditional alternatives. There’s no need for plumbing, chemicals or tanks - just a little heat, and a teaspoon of ash.

Here’s how it works:

  • Before each use, lift both the lid + seat and place one of the waxed paper liners into the bowl, opening the liner with the jagged edge nearest the front of the toilet bowl (you’ll find the liners next to the toilet).

  • Place the seat back down and you're good to go.

  • Once you’ve finished, close the lid and press the arrow button to start the incineration cycle. You will hear the base of the toilet open and shut as it drops the liner into the incinerator.

  • The process takes around an hour, during which you’ll hear a gentle fan sound - that’s perfectly normal.

  • You don’t need to do anything else. Another person can use the toilet a few minutes later - the incineration process will gently be running, but don't worry - it's perfectly safe to use again.

We’ve left a small printed guide next to the toilet as a reminder, and if you’re unsure of anything, just send us a message - we’re always here to help.

It might feel a little different at first, but we think you’ll love it. (And honestly? You might wish you had one at home.)

Cinderella Toilet Instructions

  • Meadow-style parking – reinforced surface protects the natural grassland beneath.

  • Pollinator-friendly planting – nature-positive flower planters to support bees and wildlife.

  • Minimal-impact landscaping – we use natural, sympathetic materials that blend seamlessly into the surroundings.

  • Wildflower meadow plans – we’re working to rewild more of our grassland with native wildflowers.

  • Biodiversity is key – we’ve planted over 2,200 native hedgerow plants and 200 native trees, including cherry, oak, beech, crab apple, rowan and silver birch.

  • Wood-fired Swedish Hikki Bohemen hot tub – chemical-free, quiet, and low energy use with natural drainage.

  • Recycled Kadai firepit – plus a handmade, British-built woodfired pizza oven for immersive, outdoor experiences.

  • Screen-free sanctuary – no TV and no tech distractions. Parking is a short walk from the hut to keep things peaceful and connected to nature.

  • Reconnect with simplicity – we invite guests to slow down, breathe, and rediscover joy in the small things.

  • Low-footprint tourism – perfect for walkers and cyclists, with National Cycle Routes 64 & 647 and a public footpath directly from the site.

  • Close to nature attractions – surrounded by rewilding projects like Wilder Doddington.

  • Support for local businesses – welcome hampers and extras are sourced from independent Lincolnshire suppliers.

  • Timeless upcycled interiors – furnishings and décor are repurposed with care, adding character and reducing waste.

We ask that you tread gently and leave only footprints.

We’d Love Your Feedback

We’d love to know how your stay was.

If you have a few moments, we’d be so grateful for a review. It helps us keep doing what we love - and it helps other guests find a little peace, too.

The Hideaway Playlist

We’ve put together a curated Spotify playlist - a mix of soft, slow, and easy - to keep you company while you unwind here. Perfect for slow mornings, quiet evenings, or just a little background calm. And if you’d like to carry a little of the Hideaway feeling home with you, it’s there for the journey too.

Books Worth Getting Lost In

The hut has a small seasonal library—but if you brought your Kindle, here are a few perfect reads for your stay.

For total escape:

  • Where the Crawdads Sing – Delia Owens

  • The Salt Path – Raynor Winn

  • The Offing – Benjamin Myers

Short & beautiful:

  • Wintering – Katherine May

  • Things You Can Only See When You Slow Down – Haemin Sunim

Feel free to recommend your own additions—we love hearing what our guests are reading.

Departure Day

As you prepare to leave, we simply ask that the Hideaway is left clean and tidy - just as you found it - to help us keep the space feeling special for the next guest.

A few gentle reminders:

  • Please avoid using the hot tub stove, fire pit, or pizza oven after 10pm on your final evening, this allows everything to cool safely before changeover the next day

  • Wash, dry and put away any dishes

  • Empty the fridge and remove all rubbish to the bins by the parking area

  • Check that lights and appliances are turned off

  • Leave used towels in the shower

  • Ensure all windows and doors are closed

  • Return the key to the safe, locking the door behind you

  • Return and lock the luggage cart if used

Check-out is by 10:00am. This allows us the time we need to prepare the space for the next guest. Thank you for your understanding.

There’s no need for perfection or to fold things just so, just a few small acts of care go a long way.

Your care and consideration mean more than you know.
