Harby is situated on the Lincs/Notts border, just 9 miles from the cathedral city of Lincoln and 15 miles from the market town of Newark. It’s a hidden gem that exudes rural charm while providing easy access to an abundance of activities and events across both counties.

Just 300 yards from The Cherry Tree is an award-winning country pub & restaurant. The Bottle and Glass benefits from two cosy bar areas, a spacious restaurant available for function hire and a private lounge, as well as a beautiful outdoor terrace and beer garden. 

 

Enjoy freshly prepared food from their seasonal menu, as well as an impressive selection of wines, local ales, cocktails and more. During summer months, you will find a wide selection of drinks and wood-fired pizzas from their outdoor bar, which hosts live music events.

Historically a farming village, Harby is vibrant, friendly and welcoming. Alongside the award-winning pub and boutique spa, the village boasts a community hub with children’s play area. The Pavillion and Playing Fields hosts annual family fun days, car shows and fireworks. We are also incredibly lucky in Harby to have the RAF Red Arrows regularly practicing in the skies above us as the area falls within their training airspace.

walking & cycling

The scenic Sustrans Route 64 passes through Harby along the former railway line and links Newark to Lincoln and beyond. There are also a number of bridleways and countryside walks around Harby, including the 32-mile Dukeries trail.

Doddington Hall & Gardens is a must-visit when staying at The Cherry Tree. Only a few miles away, this much-loved family home holds over 400 years of unbroken history, three floors of fascinating collections and gorgeous gardens. The Doddington Estate has a great range of free estate walks including a nature trail and even a pyramid to discover.

Within the walls of the stunning kitchen garden lies the most wonderful haven - Catkin Flowers - the home of seasonal, intuitive and expressive floral design and experiences. Their workshops and experiences are rooted firmly in nature - forage, create and explore.
