What's In Your Welcome Hamper (And Why It Matters to Us)

There’s a certain kind of comfort that comes from not needing to think too much.
You arrive, the journey is behind you, you take off your shoes and the bags can wait. There’s tea on the counter, a fresh loaf, and something sweet made just for you.
That first moment matters. It’s where the shift begins - from doing, to simply being - and for us, your welcome hamper is part of that gentle transition.
A quiet gesture that says: You’ve arrived, we’ve got you.
The Essentials: For that first brew

We know the kettle is usually the first thing you reach for. So we’ve made sure everything you need is there, not just for the drink itself, but for the ritual of slowing down with it.
You’ll find:
Chilled milk in the fridge (we’re happy to cater for allergies or preferences, just let us know in advance)
Yorkshire Tea
Nespresso pods and Azera instant coffee
White and Demerara sugar
You don’t need to unpack a thing before you can settle into your first cup.
The Treats: Made just for you

On the counter, tucked in like a little celebration, you’ll find something sweet. A welcome treat, baked fresh for your arrival by Becki at Wraiths Catering & Bakes, one of our favourite local makers.
It changes with the seasons, but if you’re lucky, you might find her epic brownies or those caramel cornflake bites that seem to disappear fast!
The Staple: Freshly baked and beautifully simple
There’s something grounding about a good loaf, the kind you want to tear into or toast up with real butter and jam.
A fresh sourdough from Vine’s Bakery will be waiting when you arrive. Hand-baked just down the road that morning - thoughtfully chosen, and simply indulgent.

The Celebration: A quiet clink to mark the moment
Tucked into the fridge, you’ll find a bottle of chilled prosecco, a small gesture to mark the start of your time here.
Whether it’s poured into flutes as the sun goes down, or shared in PJ’s on the sofa, it’s yours to enjoy whenever the moment feels right.
Prefer not to drink? We’re always happy to provide a non-alcoholic alternative, thoughtfully chosen and just as celebratory. Just let us know ahead of time.
Because sometimes, the best kind of celebration is the quiet kind - no fuss, no fanfare - just a deep breath, a raised glass, and the feeling of being exactly where you’re meant to be.
The Wild Welcome: thoughtful extras at The Wild Cherry Hideaway
For guests of The Wild Cherry Hideaway, your welcome is woven with a few extra touches to help you slip into a slower rhythm, right from the start.
Alongside the essentials and staples above, you’ll also find:
Netherend Farm Artisan Butter traditionally churned and beautifully rich

Folkington’s Juice just chill and pour
Handcooked crisps, marshmallows and popping corn because stargazing nights call for BBQ snacks
